Distribution of ratings for this:
Nose: fresh and sugary with strong vanilla essence, icing sugar, and hints of peat. Not much in the way of bonfire or cold hearth, though. Also not terribly medicinal like an Islay. Youthful, yet balanced.
Taste: zesty, with lemon and pepper leading into mouth-coating peat smoke. Fairly light-bodied but full of character. Starts to get a little medicinal once it hits the tongue. I'm drinking mine with a bit of spring water to temper some of the heat.
Finish: persistent peat, but the sweetness also follows through into the finish.
Balance: pretty good for what it is. Manages to find cohesion between seemingly disparate styles.

Interesting. I would like to try this one. I had the Nadurra Oloroso and didn't care for it. I have an unopened bottle of the 16yo when it carried that age statement.
