Glenrothes 22 Year Old 1989 Cask 24378 - Cask Strength Collection

Glenrothes is one of my favorite whiskies, I have 3-4 different bottles in my cabinet. Recently I had a chance to try the 22 yo cask strength; this one was a subject of 22 years maturation in a refill sherry butt. There are only 576 bottles available worldwide and I was able to get a sample. Being a cask strength I added a few drops of cold water and let it stay for 20 minutes before I sample it. The nose is inviting mix of berries, banana and coconut, maybe some cacao. The palate is spicy, with some added herbs, bananas and again cacao and tropical fruits The finish is long, more spices and honey
