Deep rich color greets the eye; to be followed by a nose that mingles brown sugar, nettles, sweet clotted cream, rancid pasture butter, faint floral in the background. Mouth: Sweet attack that is creamy and oily, followed by a peak of slight alcohol which quickly is subsumed by deeper forest loam, ferns in spring, sweet cream with a twist of lime, and dried maple leaves (undecayed). Finish: longer than expected with a pleasant fade from the tip of the tongue into the memory of what has just been experienced.
This malt should not be rushed; nor should water be added to it, and it some must, just a drop will do to change the complexion to a much less rich experience that is albeit less strong in terms of the alcohol pitch that is not very strong but present after the initial attack on the palate, which I find mild enough for how high it in ABV-wise.
