Glenrothes Robur Reserve

Bedlington Malt Whisky Society sampled this bottle on the 14th of November 2012. After we had sampled a bottle of Glengoyne 12 Year Old Cask Strength... Massive difference!!
With palates properly cleansed, and glasses rinsed we popped open this bottle.

Colour: Full gold.

Nose: Slight mint. Floral. Rose and wet grass. Incredibly fresh, nice sweetness. Pears, oranges and rosehips. Toffee.

Body: Smooth and light.

Palate: Summer fruits. Salt and sea air. Earthy. Dark chocolate. Lots of honey, toffee and other syrupy tones, but not claggy, still maintains it's freshness.

Finish: Woody, light but reasonably long. Nettles, more hints of mint.

A very easy going whisky, and very drinkable. Suits some good food, and good company. If you get a chance to try it, go for it!!
