Ha! I do like my Amazon tracking software. I've wanted the Amrut Intermediate Sherry for a while, but it's quite expensive in the UK at £86. Just, however, noted that for some reason on Amazon Italy, they're on sale.. so just got two of them for £36/bottle! I think that's a bargain. To be picked up when I visit the Italian family for Xmas. So, apart from the wonderful company and excellent food, now I also have two nice bottles of whisky supposedly waiting for me down there to look forward to :-)

@RikS This is an inappropriate comment by you on this thread. The only place that comment belongs is in Steal of a deal, or a new thread: How can they sell something so good do cheap?

@RikS Well scored. As @Nozinan says: “How can they sell something so good so cheap?” Not that we’re jealous or anything. yum

@RikS Congrats on your excellent price! The sad thing is that now you might delude yourself into thinking that you should wait until you can get that price again before repurchasing. Don't count on ever seeing that price again. Intermediate Sherry is one of very few whiskies which I consider worth what you mentioned was your higher initial asking price, 76 GBP.

@Victor Agreed, but to put in context, without even correcting for inflation, this fall I paid less for a bottle of IS in Calgary than I had ever paid before...

@Nozinan 'less than you had ever paid before' was not equal to nor less than 36 GBP, was it?

A few UK based bargains.

Tesco have a bunch of whiskies on offer. I didn't make note of them all but did see Ardbeg 10 at £37.

Master of Malt have a few bargains on at the moment. Including some good deals on aged Glenfarclas. The 21 for £90 and the 25 for £118.

@Wierdo note, Amazon UK has the glenfarclas 21 for even better. Special offer £75

@RikS I had 50ml samples of the Glenfarclas 21 and 25 with a bottle if the 15 I brought last year. I thought the 25 was great. The 21 was I though, decent (it is a Glenfarclas after all) but not that great. In fact I thought it wasn't better than the 15. But to be fair that is a superb price and if I had a whole bottle to go at I might form a different opinion.

I've just finished my Glenfarclas 15 and now am all out of Glenfarclas.

The whisky exchange are doing the 25 for £115 and the 15 103 proof for £82.

Decisions the 25 or the 15 103 proof?

Or the kids Christmas presents?

Ardbeg uigeadail is on sale Amazon.uk for £46 / limited flash-sale on MoM (I guess Amazon is benchmarking). I wasn't going to buy anything for a while but... this is the lowest price I've ever seen seen for Uigeadail (since 2015 which is as far back as my tracking software goes), so it was too good to resist.

@RikS - Just saw this myself and was about to come and post! I reckon Amazon must go through MoM as loads of their deals have mirrored MoM prices lately.

@RianC Yes. Understanding the Amazon pricing would require a PhD on its own, but I think you're right. However, with my "Keepa" tracking software (which I recommend you install on Chrome) however, it makes it more comprehensible as it shows price evaluation and alerts for all particularly good deals :)

Monday I picked up a JW Green for £26, and saw its now again £42. So, getting the right timing indeed makes a difference with Mr. Bezos.

@RikS - I'll look into that, thanks. First JW Green I bought was from teh first batches of the newly released ones and paid £40. I've since picked up another two for £30 which I think is about right. £26 is a steal but I didn't enjoy the bottle I bought this year as much as the previous. My reviews on here.

@RikS - Phew then - ha ha! Out of interest have you got the 'older style' bottle or the newer one? (MoM display the newer bottle style which is what I reviewed here)

@RianC mine is also the newer style with the white border

@Wierdo amazon has its own warehouse, but also cater for 3rd party sellers. The product description states who is dispatching. Makes a difference as amazon is mostly free (always if you're prime) whereas 3rd party sellers often charge delivery fees.

Deanston 18 at £49 on a flash sale at MoM. Were I not penny watching I'd snap that up!

On Amazon

Laphroaig Qtr Cask £28 (not sure of recent quality but still good value I'd say)

Aberlour A'bunadh £60 (not exactly a steal but £20 cheaper than usual)

For all UK members the Wright Wine Company in Skipton Yorkshire are doing an online offer at www.wineandwhisky.co.uk of 20% of ALL whisky.

Seem to have a fair selection too.

I've never used them so can't vouch for their service. Offer ends tomorrow.

So if you're after something you need to be quick!
