Here is another HP from the Creative Whisky Company, this time bottled in their Exclusive Casks range, meaning it was finished on an extraordinary cask, in this case a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask, which explains the dark color.

The king of sherry, PX, immediately dominates the nose. Raisins in syrup and fresh figs on top, with maple syrup and some white fruit underneath. Something dusty, like fresh wood shavings. Chocolate and dried apricots. Very nice.

It is oily, almost creamy, on the palate. Soft on the spices like cloves and different peppers. It brings the sweet, dark fruits into the footlights. Slightly bitter and hence a good balance. Reminds me a bit of dark bread. Light hint of chocolate.

In the long finish, with remains a bit smoky, it is the raisins and the chocolate that jump out.

Very nice HP, that allows itself to be enjoyed without water. Ideal companion for dessert after a hearty meal. Around 70 EUR.
