@OdysseusUnbound Are you old enough to remember that stupid shampoo commercial? "You tell two friends and they tell two friends and they tell two friends....." You need to get two of your whisky loving friends to each buy 2 bottles, With your two bottles you have a 6 pack from Craft Cellars. The shipping and insurance on our last order was $9.54 per bottle. Absolutely worth it if you stick to stuff you either can't get or is stupidly priced in your home province. We have had bottles that even after the shipping and insurance are 25 to $35 cheaper than here in BC.

@BlueNote, you know it, three deep and three more cabinets just like it…..plus the good stuff in the bunker. A fairly deep resource centre.

@OdysseusUnbound How will she feel when you show up with 6 bottles that you picked up in Toronto?

@BlueNote I can'y buy 6 bottles because I have nowhere to put them until I do a lot of drinking. I made an exception by buying a bottle from Craft Cellars recently. Luckily one of my Adult nephews picked it up from the store so no shipping. He will bring it over in May if all goes well. Never had a malt finished in a pomegranate wine cask before...

@Nozinan I hear you. I have no more room for whisky storage either, as my wife regularly reminds me. I suggested an addition on the house. That was a non starter.

@Nozinan She knows about the bottles in Toronto. That doesn't mean she's happy about it...but she knows about it.

@OdysseusUnbound @BlueNote - I wouldn't pay what you guys do for it. I like the 10, and have one in the stash, but I'd rather put the £40 towards an 18!

@YakLord I read somewhere there were 47 bottles, what a joke. Used to get that many on the shelf at Summerhill.

In another case of the LCBO being the LCBO, I got an email notification that Laphroaig 10 CS was “back in stock”, but I checked the app and the website and both batches are still listed as “unavailable for purchase”, not “sold out”. WTF?

@OdysseusUnbound same here. I’ve already resigned myself to the fact I won’t get one. Even though they claim to have 400 in the warehouse…

@Nozinan I’m also 99.999% certain I won’t get one either. I think I’m used to constant disappointment by now. At least now I know how my wife feels. stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes

I just finished a "live chat" with a helloLCBO representative. It appears that while the email went out stating that the two batches of Laphroaig 10 CS were back in stock, the product has not yet been released nor is there a known date as to when they will be available for purchase. I was told to continue to "monitor the website" for updates. When I asked if any bottles would be available for online purchase, I was told to "monitor the website" for updates. So I guess that confirms that nobody outside of Toronto, Ottawa, or Kenora will be getting one. smh.

@OdysseusUnbound The fact that the LCBO has some Laphroaig 10 CS means you guys have at least some slender hope of obtaining a bottle. The cluster fuck government monopoly known as BC Liquor Stores, by comparison, offers absolutely no hope at all...ever.

@BlueNote It was almost like talking with a secret agent, a CSIS officer or something.

  • Sir, we are not at liberty to disclose that information at this time
  • But will it be available online?
  • Sir, I repeat, we are not at liberty to disclose that information at this time. Please check the website. Carry on. Nothing to see here.

@OdysseusUnbound In my experience, CSIS IOs are even less forthcoming than that... if it was CSIS, they might tell you the questions you're asking are too specific for them to provide an answer.

FYI for those of us in Ontario, the LCBO has some Aberlour A'Bunadh Alba in stock...limit 2 bottles per person, but they've spelled it wrong. It's under Arberlour, not Aberlour.

@Astroke Thank you for the tip! I got an email this am from the LCBO but nothing was available. I thought I was too late. But I managed to get one. At this price, only one. I have another in the bunker (007 - licensed to kill) and a third of batch 005 which I opened 5 yrs ago, but I know that in 10 years or so when I may want to get another one there is a good chance it will be unavailable or even more expensive. And surely it will not make a bad gift if necessary...
