I wonder if there is a desire for the ability to post reviews of non-whisky spirits. I'm thinking not of typical rums or cognacs or (shudder) vodka, but of some special one-offs that have no forum currently in which to be showcased.

I expect it wouldn't be tough to do one in the current format but other than newmake and Turv Exloo no one has ventured further. I think it's self policing.

But what would people feel about reviews of some special spirits?

@Nozinan - Good idea. Perhaps a separate section related to 'other spirits'? Although I was thinking rum first and foremost smile It could get a bit 'messy' though?

If I buy a rum, say, I'll probably have a look and see if there are reviews on it but they are generally by rum aficionados. Sometimes though, I reckon the views of a whisky drinker on an alternate spirit could be of more use to me.

@jeanluc Has there ever been any consideration been given to real time interaction? I think it would be interesting to participate (for example) in an on-line discussion on the merits of a particular whisky.

Instead of the very first page of a discussion coming up first, take the reader to the most recent post. It would save wading through unnecessary posts.

@DaveM You can do that already by clicking on "last post" on the right

@Nozinan What I am saying is that you shouldn’t need to click at all. The most recent posts are what the viewers are more than likely interested in, not the very first posts. Eliminate that step.

@DaveM Not sure I understand. You have to click on something to choose the content you want to view.

The timeline has all most recent poists, and the discussion page has the discussions in order of most recent, and you can click on the right side to get to the most recent post...

@DaveM On mobile, you have to turn your phone sideways. Then you’ll see the name of the person who posted most recently on the right. Click that and you’ll get taken to the most recent post.

@OdysseusUnbound Thanks so much for this info! I have always wanted this feature, but I always have rotation turned off on my phone, so I had no idea.
