Just bought a bottle of Bullet today. Completely underwhelmed. Ok, it was a small step up from the Royal Crown Black I bought the other day. That might even go down the drain. It was like the fast food of blended whiskey. ugh!
The bullet was drinkable but I will save it for company who has little opinion on what it drinks.

Hi @RobertH, I see we prefer different characters in our whiskey ... but that's one factor that makes this all so interesting :) Bulleit is one of my favorites, and I like Crown Royal Black a lot. Bulleit is a minority high-rye content bourbon ... I like it when I want a dry, un-engaging, reserved, easy-drinking and solid respectable bourbon. CR Black is similar IMO, but I don't know about the rye. If you decide to give it another chance, you might want to try Bulleit next to Basil Hayden (also an easy-drinking high-rye). Other high rye bourbons are Four Roses Single Barrel and Old Grand Dad, neither of which I care for.
Each to his own, but your guests my wind up being quite lucky :-) Happy finding new tastes !

Been eyeing a bottle of Bruichladdich-The Organic. Not much info around about it but looks like it might be an interesting one to pick up.

@RoganFox - If you like Bruichladdich then I don't think you will go wrong with that one, I have recently bought one but haven't opened it yet. I have however tasted it when visiting my parents whom I have infected with the whisky bug too :-)
In the light of this thread I just bought the Glendronach 15 yo Revival (as I just emptied my old Glendronach 15 yo) and a Kilchoman Denmark Single Cask Release (Cask #316/06) a 4 yo whisky.

@ProsperoDK Thanks for that. Have not seen too much on The Organic so intrigued and looking forward to picking it up. Good for you for passing the whisky bug to your parents, its one bug thats good to have!

@AboutChoice Thanks for your point of view. I think what really set me off about the Crown Royal Black is it strikes me as having too much sweetness, to me almost syrup like in its character. I simply found one that wasn't for me. Regards!
