I tasted this Tennessee whiskey back in July 2016. Never judge a book by its cover or a review by its pic: despite the big ice cubes, my tasting order is always the same: neat, water, sparkling, ice, seltzer.
Intense dark amber hue with caramel shades. Aroma starts mainly fruity (it surprised me, was expecting charred and caramely): pineapple, raisins, bergamot, even raspberry.) Then roses, finally the usual suspects (only at the end): vanilla, caramel, marshmallow, butter.
Sip begins soft and sweet, not too boozy (mind you, this is 45%.) Midpalate we get some nice balmy touches (spruce) to finish with no bitterness at all, rather sweet notes again.
