This single cask (ex-bourbon) was bottled exclusively for The Whisky Import in the Netherlands and yielded 261 bottles. The spirit left the stills on 20th September 2006 to be bottled as whisky on 10th March 2011.
Ooh, that's a good nose. Very fruity! After the initial alcohol bomb (60%!), I get a whole plethora of sweet fruits like pear, mango, lime, kiwi, unripe banana. They form the basis for the sweet peat and briny notes that don't dominate, but support the whole. Leaving it a few minutes will bring out the sweet fruitiness even more. Absolutely wonderful nose!
Despite the high ABV, this one caresses the tongue. The sweet fruit speaks first, but then the peaty, smoky character shows and conquers the palate. Peat all the way, this one. But wonderfully sweet at the same time, no kidding. Nicely spiced as well (cloves, white pepper). This is surprisingly good.
The finish is clean, on the same flavours, and lasts very long.
This is without a doubt the best Kilchoman I've had to date. The Dutch may count their blessings (and thank the Maker they are so close to me, so that I could get my hands on this beauty).

Sounds pretty good for a four-year-old whisky.
