Went down to the Lark last night for another session, tried four different Lark expressions. The first was the LD112 Renaissance - bottled at 40% (like their very early product) rather than the 43% they use more commonly now.

The nose is full of malt and orange zest with wood and nutty hints. Fairly simple, but fairly pleasant. With a dash of water it opens up with hints of caramel and becomes richer and fuller

The taste is rich, hints of fruitcake, orange zest, malt and caramel.

The finish is warm, with orange and fruitcake notes. Long with a slow gentle burn.

A pleasant malt, but not fantastic. My impression upon drinking (and of course I could be wrong) is that they diluted down to 40% because at 43% it wasn't too great. Without a dash or two of water it was fairly dull.
