Went down to the Lark last night for another session, tried four different Lark expressions. The second was the LD137.

Nose is thick, rich and complex. Full of malt, spiced wine, orange and vanilla. Very enjoyable. With a few drops of water it becomes even thicker, although I wouldn't have thought it possible. The maltiness lessens, and some caramel starts to make itself known.

The taste is smooth, warm, rich and syrupy. Sweet caramel, pears, with hints of spice and oak to balance it nicely. Very well balanced, and more going on here than I can readily identify in a single tasting. his is definitely worth coming back to.

The finish is smooth, warm and long, like a fruity spiced wine. Really lovely.

While the LD112 was a bit underwhelming, the LD137 is a proper stand up and take notice malt. It would be interesting to try the cask strength bottling, but the basic single malt is genuinely fantastic.
