The Nectar of the Daily Drams presented this Littlemill at the Spirits in the Sky festival in Brussels. It matured for 24 long years and was bottled at cask strength. It has a full golden color and beads wonderfully.

A magnificent bit of woodsmoke precedes potpourri and almonds paste. It is not as sweet as I had expected. But you have to be patient. After a few moments, I get a waxy nose full of ginger, vanilla and cinnamon, some Seville oranges and then the honey, sugared lime peel and passion fruit kicks in. Mandarin and even some mango join the fray. Yes, it turns quite tropical.

It has a light body, succulent and spicy. The tropical fruit returns, but it is mostly citrus (oranges, lime and now some grapefruit as well) that leads. Liquorice, ginger and a nice zestiness. Yup, this is top class.

Wonderfully long finish on citrus and spices.

Littlemill can be so beautiful. Around 140 EUR.
