This is rather obscure bottling of a slightly obscure yet vastly underrated (IMO) distillery. But it ticks all the right boxes - Single Cask, uncoloured, unchillfiltered.
Nose - Definitely fruity at first with some oaky vanilla and a touch of spices. Cinnamon maybe. Dry oakiness becoming more apparent as it opens up. A bit of citrus after more time.
Palate - Quite mellow. Sweet vanilla gives way to spiciness. A touch of fruit, (bananas?) but not as much as the title might suggest. Slightly creamy.
Finish - The drying oakiness re-emerges from the creaminess.
An interesting whisky no doubt. I'd like Diageo to give this distillery more exposure - it is a bit of a hidden gem.
