At 90.00 US, this was about 100.00 less than the regular 18YO. Label says 18 years in oak barrels, so I assume no sherry influence here, perhaps more in common with the Fine Oak series.

Aroma is all fresh honeysuckle and wild flowers, albeit with a prominent alcohol burn. Something else in the smell, way in the back: Powdered Tang/orange drink. Sweet and hot on the tongue with a very pleasant lingering burn. Honey quickly goes somewhat dry and bitter on the finish, but this is good. It prevents the whisky from becoming cloying.

I really enjoyed this. So much so in fact, that I went back and picked up a couple more bottles for the war chest.
