Talisker Distiller's Edn. 2000 bottled 2011: This is from a Talisker Pack (3x2000ml.) which includes the Std.10yo. and a 57* North and the aforementioned D.E.
These are seriously good Whiskies; all three are excellent in their own way and seem, in some strange way to compliment each other; like pieces in a puzzle they dovetail beautifully in an amazing Distillery statement that, quite simply, screams 'class'.
My local small independent has a couple more of these - I'll be back!

Some sweet, smoky, and seductive SMWS' - SMWS Ardbeg 33.124 An engineer's lunch-box and SMWS Ardmore 66.36 Milano Salami and a tropical fruit kebab; providing alliteration for my saturday night.

@CanadianNinja - it was truly awful...but I'm going to have to inflict it on people so they can experience my pain...

@talexander - ahhh yes, Black Bull 40yo - most impressive, and thanks to you I was able to enjoy this incredible (and elusive) blended malt.

@paddockjudge It is amazing - FYI though, it is not a blended malt, but a true blend - the ratio is 90% malt to 10% grain.

I am trying my first two Aultmore ever (one bourbon and one sherry matured). Rather unbelievable that these are my first two Aultmore after almost 1600 whiskies sipped, but there you go. And they were more than ok!

@talexander - my bad - I am, after all, a huge fan of blended whisky...two weeks until Canada Day Weekend!

Ardbeg TEN. New batch: L13 003 (So bottled Jan. 3rd 2013). I have a fantastic bottle open (L11 195). This new one has interesting lime and vanilla cream notes . . . (my wife and son agree) . . . never had a "vanilla cream" note from the TEN before, but it is there. Nice but the L11 195 is far better

Currently sipping a Speyburn 10 while catching up on the news. Undecided on what will be in my glass next...Bushmills, Buffalo Trace, or Four Roses Single Barrel though most likely.

Having a dram of Coal Ila 12 yr after a nice BBQ supper of ribs, peaches and cream corn, and baby potatoes with dill. All in all a very nice Fathers day.

Killed the last of a few bottles. Ended a Single Cask 60.3% bottle of Kilchoman I picked up in Franklin TN (exclusive for Red Dog Wine and Spirits) which was amazing for just under 5 years of age. Also killed the last of my bottle of Octomore 01.1 64.5% (another 5 year old). To keep them company I also had Ardbeg Still Young (8 year old at 56.2%) and Amrut Peated Cask Strength 62.8%
It is a young peaty bunch tonight. While not very complex it is very enjoyable and intense!

@PMessinger enjoying the Cardhu very much, my friend. A little smoke, big fruit, a little toffee, a little spice, medium finish. Being 40% ABV I wasn't sure how much it would offer. I was pleasantly surprised.

@teebone673 Glad to hear that you are enjoying the Cardhu 12yr. I've had the last of my Cragganmore 12yr. This one was also a good Speysider. :)

Just sipping the dregs of my Springbank 12 yo claret wood at cask strength. I recently transferred most of what was left to a smaller bottle and there were a couple of drams left that wouldn't fit... Luckily I could get to it before it oxidized. There is sediment at the bottom of the glass. Cask dust?
Next, I hope t do a skyped simultasting of the Bladnoch 11 year old, if my pal in Florida ever has time...

Took a day off today! A 'me' day if you will. It's about 10am in Japan at the moment and I have just poured myself a glass of Famous Grouse Gold Reserve 12... Gonna have a few drams throughout the day and watch some baseball : )

Finally cracked open my bottle of Oogie. Yes, it is as good as advertised)) A peated nectar! But I can't say it's all that better than PC8, that I also possess. Sweeter for sure. Otherwise I've got to do a head-to-head tasting to crown my peated king))

I broke the rules tonight and started with some fine Ardbegs. Now I have moved on to my 1/3 fill bottle of Balvenie 15, and she has gotten nasty...And I mean that in a good way.

Enjoying a fun session of 3 Laphroaigs tonight: 10 y.o. Cask Strength Batch 003, a Duncan Taylor 13 y.o. Laphroaig from Binny's, and my souvenir bottle from the Distiller's Wares tour I took last summer on Islay (also 13 y.o., 59.8% ABV). Intense but fun! Sad that my souvenir bottle is almost empty. My wife even joined me by having a dram of Ardbeg Blasda, which she bought on our trip to Islay. This whisky turned out to be her "gateway", and now she enjoys quite a few Scotch whiskys.
