Finishing off the rest of my Johnnie Walker samples (200 ml bottles). Just for shits and grins, I poured a good measure of the Blue on the rocks. Holy Hannah. So that's how you're supposed to drink this stuff.

Just cracked a new bottle of Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask. I remember this one being better after a month or two in the bottle. May as well get started tonight.

Poured a dram of Clynelish 14 tonight, from a half-empty bottle I hadn't touched in months. Time has not been kind. I was never crazy about its finish; now it's overwhelmingly leathery and bitter. Could have decanted or used Private Preserve, but my gut told me this might benefit from some bottle time. Live and learn.

Caol Ila DE '98 up next.

Eagle Rare Single Barrel 10 yo. Gift from a coworker for my taking heat on his project while he was out of the office. It wasn't a big deal, but this whiskey is.

Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon 12yo. from a 200ml. I saved about 18 mths. ago. I'm enjoying it more than the first time 'round: Maybe it's me, but it seems smoother, more balanced and has less obvious vanilla; the sample was up to the shoulders in a JW. Green 200ml. leaving a good air space.

There seems to be no end to what you can do with fine spirit!

Sitting back enjoying my last dram of A'Bunadh batch 32. I have reserved a small bottle for some future date and I do have a spare, but that's it for a while. I think my next bottle, once I finish my 44, will be a 37 because I have 2.

Amrut Intermediate Sherry with creamy milk chocolate and a few drops of water. I decanted my remaining nectar into a 6 oz bottle and there was just enough left for a 15-20 cc dram tonight and maybe one for a few days from now. Opening up nicely. Don't know what is chocolatier, the malt or the Lindt...
