@whiskygoalie Isn't it a beauty? So rich in flavour! And if you can leave it open in the glass for half an hour....You have given me the urge to have one. If only I weren't on call.
I really wish the LCBO would stock this. It would likely become a "go-to" bourbon as Booker's is for me now. Mind you, they probably would list it at $50 or something ridiculous like that.

I'm currently having an Arran which is a few months short of 20 years old making it about as old an Arran as you can possibly get at the moment. It's a delicately sherried bottle at cask strength from Whiskybroker and the soft fruitiness makes it one of the best whiskies that I've ever tasted. These middle aged Strand are really quite spectacular and I can't wait to try it in 5 to 10 years time

These middle aged Arran's not Strand. Predictive text gets on my nerves at times!

@Astroke, another vatting of Alberta Rye. The last batch was a delicious treat and deserves to be repeated. I'll save you a dram from the 250 ml batch. You can compare it h2h with the unicorn juice.
Masterson's 10 YO Rye Batch 005, 45% abv
Lock Stock & Barrel 13 YO Rye ncf 50.65% abv
Alberta Premium 25 YO Rye 40% abv
Jefferson's 10 YO Rye 47% abv
WhistlePig The Boss Hog 13 YO Barrel # 20, 60.6% abv
Alberta Premium 30 YO Rye 40% abv

@whiskygoalie
Finally your inspiration can be fulfilled. I poured myself a 15-20cc dram of OGD 114. But I made myself wait until I had finished my work before I sipped it. It has settled beautifully in the glass and I will see how much I can drink before I have to go off to bed...

@maltmate302 , 20 yo Isle of Arran sounds really good to me. Their products get so much better well beyond their base-line 10 years-aged malt.

@Victor it really is wonderful whisky. I may miss out on the odd bottle of Ardbeg but I feel very lucky to get superb single cask Arrans, Tobermorys, Benrinnes and Port Charlottes all at reasonable prices. There's even some barrel charr in some of these Whiskybroker bottlings!

Just getting the last preparation done for tomorrow...I'll be going up to volunteer at Camp Erin this weekend. Great experience, lots of spirit even though spirits are not permitted.
Enjoying a few sips of A'Bunadh 46... I really have to get to # 47 soon.

I know this is a whisky forum, but I can't resist.... At the moment I'm having a cognac called ABK6 Family reserve XO and it is soooo good! If you want to get one bottle of cognac to put among all your whiskies, this is the one to get!

Tonight (again) I find myself with the Amrut peated CS. Truly a stellar spirit. Rich in taste and powerful but it also has its more tamed notes of custard and sweet Spice with a Finish that lasts forever.

Moving on to Swedish bottler Svenska eldvatten's vintage 1994. Thickly flowing raw honey and dark baking syrup. Sweet and a bit hot on the alcohol

Having a glass of Gooderham & Worts, and am finding myself enjoying it more with every pour. My bottle has been open for a month, so maybe some air is doing the whisky some good. Or maybe I'm just acquiring a taste for it.

@Nelom I have also found my enjoyment of this growing each time I approach it. It's still not something I reach for often, maybe 2-3 times in the last 6 months, because Canadian isn't my genre of choice most times, but it's something I would probably accept if offered in good faith.

@Nozinan Have you been gassing your bottle? I'm not sure if you do that to all your bottles, or only your favourites. Just pondering if we're both experiencing the benefits of our bottles having been opened for a while. I suppose I could pick up another bottle and do a blind tasting of the two, to see if I notice a difference...

@Nelom I do gas all of my bottles, unless I'm planning to open them in the very near future. The reason is that I like a variety of spirits, so at the rate I drink (the Ontario Summit wasn't a typical of my intake) it could be months before I open something again, especially when it comes to things like Canadian or some bourbons.
The one exception has been my Bladnoch 12 YO. I would have rated it in the 70s the first time I tried it. but after 3/4 of a year and some air it improved to an 88. Now open over a year I will give it another shot. First sniffs do have the vegetal note but more integrated into the spirit. I'll write an update of my review once I have more info.

Benromach 100/10 - no water added this time, not even a drop. This is splendid stuff!

Sipping on a pour of Gibson's 18. My first true whisky love. But even so, I hadn't had this in quite a while and had somewhat forgotten how good it is. Simply blissful.
