@paddockjudge, Rock Hill Farms has been my house bourbon for several years now. My cousin came over to do a Pappy tasting a couple years back (he miraculously landed a 15 yo and I found a 12 yo Lot B after searching at least 20 stores) and he couldn't stop talking about the RHF after he tried it. Actually sent him on his way with a nice sample and he went out and got his own bottle soon afterwards. It's probably the only spirit I buy two at a time. Last night I came close to finishing off a bottle. Hopefully tonight...I need all the space I can get in my bunker, so I'm looking forward to pulling out the backup.

Having some Pike Creek. This bottle confounds me. When I first got it, I loved it. Then after a few pours it just lost its luster. I didn't care for it much at all. And now, the last couple of pours have been great, perhaps even better than when I first got the bottle. I don't know what's going on. It's experiences like this that makes me doubt my palate altogether.

@paddockjudge unicorns have a tendency to disappear, it's part of the magic. if you only have one left maybe you ought to buy and read (or watch the movie) "The Last Unicorn"... it's very 70s...

@paddockjudge I still am nursing the only bottle I have ever gotten. Besides it was around $91 cad for this one. Good stuff but should be in the Blanton's price range. Will fill the bottle with something else when it's done, too cool to waste.

Ninety 20. Brown sugar in a glass--well, maybe a bit more complex (but not much :-) Very nice for dessert.

Last night i revisited FC Evolution. Time has been kind to this bottle. It has been open for more than a year. i enjoy wine finished whisky and this one is quite enjoyable, much more so than when it was first opened. There is some well-aged whisky in this release. Too bad it is no longer available.

@paddockjudge yes, too bad there's no one who has a bunch of them and is ready to unload...

@Nozinan,
Every now and then some gems are discovered. I off-loaded three bottles of FC Harmony earlier this year, it wasn't my kind of whisky. I'm always looking to trade for some vintage stuff.

@broadwayblue,
I'm tempted to bust out that dusty RHF. I have a dozen bottles of bourbon open, so I'll sit tight for now.

I'm not a frequent beer drinker, but yesterday I was all over town visiting patients who were literally dying to see me.
My last patient lived literally a stone's throw away from Ontario's flagship liquor store. With no pages waiting I decided to treat myself to a walk around. I spotted some private preserve and a few malts and bourbons that looked good, but I already had.
Then I noticed a craft beer display. Now on call, of course, I couldn't have any but I was thinking ahead.
Fast forward to today. A gruelling first ever father and children bike trip followed by Korean BBQ dinner.
And tonight, Forked River Brewing Company MOJO, a "citra rhubarb wheat ale". Clocking in at 4.5%, the 500 cc bottle has less alcohol than a CS A'Bunadh 30 cc dram, yet after only a few large sips I'm beginning to feel a buzz...

redbreast 12y/o cask strength, a newly opened bottle.... great stuff! haven't been drinking much whiskey lately, i'm kinda being priced out of the game. heck, the opportunity to drink magic juice like this, though, reinforces how fortunate i am. happy (belated) canada day and (early) independence day to my connosr buddies!

Ok.... Had to open my newly acquired Elijah Craig Barrel Proof.... Not sure, but at 69.7% I expect it to last a little while. Seems I've Been buying bourbon for the past year...

opened my bottle of aberlour 12 unchill-filtered 48%. Impressed so far. Intense and complex single malt. My first aberlour.

1995 OB glen garioch batch 10, a newly opened bottle (my third). one of the only bottles i'm willing to purchase from the lcbo. i was incredibly happy, not to mentioned surprised, to see them recently bring in another ~400 bottles. a wee bit of malt, a wee bit of peat, and a wee bit of sweet. i'm a fan....

@thecyclingyogi That actually sounds quite interesting. I'm very tempted to seek some out. 16 YO at Cask strength for $120 is on par with some other similarly aged malts like Laimrig.
As for me, ever since your post about the Resdbreast 12 YO CS it's been calling to me, and tonight was the perfect night to enjoy a dram of it while watching episode 6 of the latest medical drama "Doctors". The Code Blue scene was the worst I'd seen since Dr. Gray drowned in an early season of Gray's anatomy. And only 90% of the dialogue had subtitles.
But tonight, the Redbreast was FLAWLESS!

@thecyclingyogi That would be great. I'll be sure to arrange appropriate reciprocity...

Went bach to a sure value: Corry. It's not as herbal as when it was freshly opened, there fore not as complex but it has a better balance. A great dram!

Uncle is over for dinner and I introduced him to the Redbreast 12 CS. A very inspired malt.

@Nozinan Revisted the RB12 CS last night and found it much better now than 2 months ago when I first opened the bottle.

I first took half a dram of Michel Couvreur's Overaged whisky, which is kind of like a Glengoyne sherry bomb and now I a, drinkink a pour of Kadhambam because I want to give some air to this bottle before offering it to some friends in a coming tasting session. I find that a good excuse. Don't you?

@Astroke
I really liked it when I opened the bottle, and I like it even more now. But I keep it gassed so it's probably not much different.

1975 OB Balblair (bottled 2007), just opened to celebrate Portugal winning Euro 2016 - couldn't be happier. I bought this bottle a few years ago in Portugal, and 1975 was the last time Portugal beat France in a football match, so it was just calling out to be opened. Wish I was in Lisbon right now, the whole country must be going bonkers. My wife might never stop crying....

i know its not the topic but what do you think about whisky stones ? i read an article about whisky stones on that website scottishwhiskyworld.com. tell me your opinon

@Mario Why don`t you start a new discussion? You will get a lot more answers that way.
For myself, I think nothing of it since I drink my malt at room temperature; but since I also don`t like to add water, I supposed I would prefer them to ice if I was tempted to have a cooler dram by a hot summer day like today, for example.
Good luck with your search.
