Finishing up a very small pour of Bowmore Devil's cask for a review and I needed to compare it with Laimrig, so a modest pour of that is also sitting on my desk. Review of DC III is pending...

@mscottydunc My local purveyor recently got the Kilkerran 12 yo. I think I like Campbeltown style!

@Nozinan I have tried the DCIII. Very nice. Wish I had a shot at the previous versions. Age stated if I remember?

@Bilbo161 Yes, I believe the other 2 were age stated. This one tastes "younger" than the Laimrig for sure.

Jefferson's Ocean Cask Strength, 56% ABV. Laudable intensity. Yummy, yummy, yummy. Thanks again for the sample, @newreverie. Highly recommended. This is a real find. If I were lower on bourbon stocks I'd probably buy 3 or 4 bottles of this one.

Sipping away on some George Dickel Rye while watching "Glitch" on Netflix. Good show, great whisky. Although whenever I have a pour of this, I realize how bad I am at detecting pickles. I keep hearing that that's a prevalent note in many ryes, and in George Dickel in particular, but I can never sense it. Oh well, time for another sip.

Celebrating the early end to a long week with some Redbreast 12YO CS and an eBook. Then decided to polish off the last 10cc of my sample of Bowmore Devil's Cask 3 from @Cricklewood.

Started with a Wiser's Last Barrel's, moved on to E H Taylor Single Barrel, Blanton's Gold and finished up with a 2015 WLW. No where to go Bourbon wise from there. Although a small dram of 2012 GTS might work.

@Astroke,

your stellar line-up perfectly describes my Christmas Day card. Where can you go from there?

Cheers Bro!

Astroke replied

@paddockjudge I believe I may do the same lineup Christmas Day, depending how much cooking and stuff I have to do. Of course that lineup will then go on hiatus for some time as my Liver nor my wallet can absorb that much abuse :)

Cheers my friend

Oh my. I thought with the new website we'd be starting over again. Someday a historian will discover this thread and publish it as evidence of obsession.

New site is awesome.

Tonight: Aberfeldy 12. One of my favorites.

@paddockjudge I have no idea what my Dec. 25 lineup will be - I'll be in Calgary with @Nosebleed and whatever he has (or we forage) will be in the glass.

Not for me. We'll be too busy boxing day. But I have 2 bottles of IS. One I bought a number of years ago. And a couple of months ago my brother in law got a $25 coupon for anything over $100 at Liquor Depot so he printed off a few and among other things I got an IS for $92 plus tax.

Having some Mackmyra Svensk Ek while watching Orphan Black. Great show, mediocre whisky. Somehow this is doing the opposite of growing on me. It seems every time I try some I like it less. I might just give the rest of this bottle away to someone who'd appreciate it more than me.

@Nelom, when I had the Mackmyra svensk ek I liked it at first but the longer it sat in the glass the more the oak took over the palate. Finally it was quite unbearable
