Just opened a High West Rendezvous Rye for Canadian Thanksgiving...it's really quite good so far. Upon trying it my wife exclaimed "oh yeah, that's my kind of $@!& whiskey" It's funnier if you've met her and know how quiet and reserved she is...

@cpstecroix having grown up in Utah and having skied and hung out in Park City since the mid '70s I rejoice with all things High West. It warms my heart knowing someone is fighting the good fight in Utah! Try the Campfire. I have a half full bottle right here calling my name.

While cooking dinner and watching baseball playoffs killed off my bottle of SMWS 12 year Glen Elgin (85.22 - "A lady of the night"). I'm going to miss this one.
After dinner, 5 year single sherry cask Kilchoman.

St. Nicholas Abbey 12 year-old Barbadian Rum...phenomenal stuff. Definitely NOT for mixing! www.liquorature.com ...or at least that's what I was drinking last night...

Aberlour A'bunadh batch 34. This bottle has been open for about a year now and is half full.
Batch 34 is a bad mother in the same way "Shaft" was a bad mother. I love this stuff, it jumps up and grabbs you my booboo.
I'd like to do a review on it but what more can I say that already hasn't been said. Its an animal right up my alley.

Speaking of A'bunadh - can anyone suggest a CURRENT batch (in the early 40's) that's as good as batch 34, 35 or 36? Cheers

Ardbeg Uigeadail now. Its a monster of a Scotch. Its a good night to drink scotch. 2 real winner$ in the right order.
I wonder how Aberlour A'bunadh / Ardbeg Uigeadail blend would taste, maybe another night.
@systemdown , I wish I had bought a case of batch 34, let me know how the new versions are turning out.

A Friday night tasting with new and old friends. On the table: Auchentoshan 12 yr, Macallan Fine Oak 15 Years, Johnnie Walker Gold Label, McClelland's Highland Single Malt, Macallan 12 Year old Elegancia, Bowmore Darkest 15 yr, Laphroaig Quarter Cask, George T Stagg 2012. Some fine whisky's others not so much but a very enjoyable evening out. The George T Stagg knocked a few guys down hard.

1-1/2 oz Lunazul Tequila Reprasado, 1 oz Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon, 2 oz Tavern SweetnSour mix. Server over ice. Sometimes I just like to kick back and not have to think about what I'm drinking.

Last night I had a small dram of Grand Old Parr 12 in honour of my grandfather who passed away six years ago yesterday. My first real whisky tasting memory was having the last of a bottle of GOP 12 with him (a Parr himself) and my wife, a couple of years before he passed.

Last night I had a laphroaig 10yo single cask 4108, 761 bottles. Dun bheagan! Beautiful stuff, less smoky and smoother than the ob bottle. Also a bit less medicinal To. Bottle at 46% is a really good thing. it's really good is what I say. Non chill, no color to.
