So, I'll start off with 1, 2, 3, 4 by Alan Doyle, a bit of rousing folk-rock. At least I think that would be the genre...

@Nelom which to choose from. For starters, here is "whiskey in the jar". Next choice was which version to choose - the Dubliners, Thin Lizzie, Metallica, the Irish Rovers..... Enjoy

@Nelom If it's a public Spotify playlist, I'll see if I can embed it in your post...

I have a "whisky" playlist on my iPod that I can mine for some posts when I get a chance to dig up the YouTube clips and be like the cool kids here.
For now, though, I'll say that anyone who likes whisky songs should make the acquaintance of The Tossers. Their album "Emerald City" especially is packed to the gills with stompers about the brown stuff.

Oh, wow, lots of music posted since I was last here. That's great stuff.
@jeanluc I wouldn't recommend embedding my particular playlist, as some songs are only very tangentially related to whisky. But, since this thread had taken off a little bit, I'll start a new one and include all the songs people post here. Provided they're available on Spotify that is. I'll make sure to add new songs to it as people post them. It'll take me a day or two, I'll send it to you when I have it.
Since I'm posting, here's another song I came upon the other day. Apparently Kiefer Sutherland does music? Who knew...

They may not be very well-known outside of Canada, but they are (were?) a great live act.

(no actual video for this song, but I found a compilation/montage that works)

@jeanluc, The Doors! ...my favourite rock group. I saw those guys perform in 1968. Big Sis @Maddie had to take my friends and me to the concert. We didn't drive yet. For a big mind trip, sit through the entire 1930 Kurt Weill opera, The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, which includes the pre-existing Bertolt Brecht Alabama Song. I saw that opera once. It was quite interesting and certainly weird enough, but once was enough.

So, I've got a Spotify playlist with songs that feature whisky in some capacity or other. Some songs that just mention it in passing (most songs, really) and some that focus on it more wholeheartedly.
In this thread I'll be using the nifty "Video" feature of Connosr to link to some of those songs, and I invite everyone to join me.
To post a song that mentions whisky, just reply and click the "Video" button below the posting window and then paste the Youtube link to the song.
Hopefully I'm not the only one who'll partcipate. Looking forward to hearing some whisky related music.
