I've drank my way through a 10YO 100 Proof and I've sampled the CS at a tasting. The CS is way better.
The 10YO, to me, was a standard-issue Campbeltown. (That's good, mind.) The CS, though, was just huge: massive nose, massive zip, massive palette. It's the bottle I most want to buy when my current supplies draw down enough to justify the next bottle!

As far as I know, the main difference between the 10 and the 12 is that the 10 year is 60/40 bourbon cask/sherry cask, whereas 12 year is 100% (60% first-fill) sherry cask. I'm not sure this applies to the now discontinued 10yr cask-strength, but I assume that it does. So, this makes the 12yr closer in style to the 15yr.

I went on a bit of a spending spree recently and bought several bottles of whisky to put on the shelf. I wanted to add some Springbank to my selection and the store had a pretty diverse variety. I decided on the 15-year (which I love) and the 10-year 100 Proof. Also intriguing was the 12-year Cask Strength and I wavered between that and the 100 proof for a good long time before finally settling on the 100 Proof.
Curious if anyone out there has experience with both of these whiskies... and if so, I'm wondering if you could share your thoughts on the differences between the two. Hoping I made the right choice. :)
