On ice at Hesperia Hotel, Madrid. It pours dark golden with some greenish streaks. Aroma is quite intense: vanilla, spruce, smoke, corn flakes, even some fig. Mouthfeel starts like a horse kick, really strong and almost sizzling, with a pungent tinge. As you let it rest in your mouth some savory and crispness do compensate that rather heavy beginning. Aftertaste is very long-lasting with umami flavors on the foreground, which make me think this scotch would be a nice pairing for shellfish.
