I bought a bottle of the Springbank 100 proof among others for a Scotch tasting. While the Springbank didn't stand out as the best, it was one that I repeatedly came back to as I drank the "left overs" for the next few months. It isn't the best malt I've ever had, but it's interesting and definitely worth trying.

The nose is slightly floral with a hint of grass and citrus. The palate is an interesting blend of salt with honeyed sweetness. There are also strong traces of fruit, especially orange and grapefruit. The finish was surprisingly smooth for such a high proof, and leaves the mouth with a touch of pepper and a light buttery sweetness.

Once I finished the bottle I wasn't compelled to race out and buy another, but I enjoyed it while it lasted and wouldn't be disappointed if I had occasion to drink it again.
