Strathmill whisky is one of three from the Speyside town of Keith. Strathisla and Glen Keith being the other two. Glen Keith distillery is demolished and Strathisla is tucked away but well sign-posted.

The 12 year old Strathmill forms part of Diageo's Flora & Fauna range and is the only official bottling from this distillery.

The whisky from Strathmill is an important ingredient of the J&B blend. The whisky style is typical Speyside, being light and fruity.

Now to the tasting

Nose: Is light and fresh, with soft fruits, strawberries come to mind, malty, slight smokeyness and woody.

Palate: Oak, heather and fruit to open with, drying slighly before the warm glow running down the throat to the tummy, very very warm and pleasantly smooth.

This is the ideal whisky to take in a hip flask for that long stands at football or rugby games. Very warming smooth and easy on the palate.

The F&F does sound very nice.
