@MadSingleMalt nice selection to lust over, that early version of the PC Islay in the white tin was fantastic, I picked up a 2011 version recently as I saw the 2012 was coming hot on it's heels and didn't want to miss it.

The recent PC releases have been really strong.

@cricklewood, a buddy in my whisky club brought the 2008 vintage of the Islay Barley to our Port Charlotte night a few months ago, and the side-by-side comparison with its (also very good) brethren really showed how awesome it is. I'd gone through a bottle on its own before, but not (I think) ever with the benefit of comparison. It's awesome.

I bought one more off a shelf before the local supply dried up, so it'll be fun now to compare it with the new 2012 vintage—if I brave the stores to buy one, that is. :)

@MadSingleMalt I hope you do brave it and buy one, because it’s one I keep passing by and I would be very interested to get your thoughts. But don’t jeopardize your safety.

I guess what I am lusting after is that elusive Kilkerran 8. No luck so far tracking one down.

@MadSingleMalt It would be interesting to try a 2012 PC Islay Barley. I really enjoyed my bottle of PC Islay Barley 2008. I won’t let anyone tell me that young whisky can’t be good after tasting that one. It’s a 6 year old whisky and I rated it 89/100. Tasty stuff.

@BlueNote that KK8 Sherry was there and gone at most places in AB back in December. If you have any connections in Edmonton ask them. As stores there seem to retain stuff for a while longer. (Château Louis still had Springer Rum Cask and Local barley on the shelf 2 weeks ago. I peeped it on someone's IG thread.

Whisky aside. I'm lusting for a return to normal.

@PeterG7 Aren’t we all, mate, aren’t we all. If we all stay the course we’ll get there.

I'm lusting for a 30yo whisky to buy before I turn 30 in a couple years just to say that I own a whisky older than me. I have to do it soon before it gets even more un-affordable.

I’m lusting for some old(ish) Armagnacs and Cognacs. Now I know next to nothing about the ins and outs of these products and which names are “trustworthy”, but I’ve never met a Cognac, Armagnac, or even a brandy I didn’t enjoy.

@Nozinan Nothing would make me happier (once this pandemic has passed, of course).

Having recently acquired the taste for high end Tequilas and Mescals, I'm lusting after more. The Don Julio 1942 and the Jose Cuervo Reserva de Familia have spoiled me for anything but the best (and, of course, most expensive).

This one looks interesting, if I’m ever allowed to visit Québec again. I say interesting only because it features my birth year. I know absolutely nothing of its flavour profile or quality.

@OdysseusUnbound, if you're willing to sift through a fair amount of retail sensationalism, you can find good (or at least intriguing) info about armagnac and various producers on the K&L Spirits Blog. They did a bunch of material on there a few years ago, basically whenever they were bringing in new producers or even making trips there.
