Just got a bottle of Laphroaig 10 yr that my sister picked up for me in North Dakota. Have been working evenings all this week so tonight it gets opened. A plus it's a bit chilly here and raining so from what I've reading it should be a good pairing tonight. Looking forward to it.

The guy at my liquor store keeps on diverting me, but I am determined that next time I make a purchase it will be Ardbeg Corryvrekan. Mind you I said that the last 2 times I went in there ...

Buffalo Trace "Single Oak Project" will hit stores here in California soon. My liquor shop guy said each store will only receive 4 or less of round 1. Luckily, I am 1st in line. I hope they're nice to me pricing-wise.

In the next week or so, my wife and I will be travelling to the Chicago area to visit family. I have been researching Binny's (a 25 location liquor store chain in the Chicagoland area) website furiously for a while to come up with the best way to optimize my allocation of three bottles (Canada Customs allows 1.14 litres / person duty free, which works out to juuuust enough for three bottles between the two of us).

I am hoping to pick up a "Binny's Handpicked" single barrel bottling of Elmer T. Lee and Knob Creek (crossing fingers on adequate supply still being down there). In a salute to Chicago, I also have my eye on Koval (an organic & kosher certified distillery right in Chicago itself!) and their Lion's Pride Dark Wheat whiskey. Here's hoping...

Glenlivet Nadurra; just picked it up and will open it later. After than it will be an Aberlour or Auchentoshan; probably a 15 or 16.

Aberlour 16 double cask matured. Got it with 20% off today, which was nice..

I have bought and paid for a bottle of BenRiach Solstice 15, and should be able to pick it up in about a month. It will not be sealed for long!

We just purchased Glenfarclas 15 in Ottawa yesterday. The 15 is extremely difficult to find in the US.Dramlette and I tasted it last night for the first time. It was well worth the effort to obtain it and did not dissappoint in the slightest. Lovely whisky. .

Got back from Chicago two nights ago with the Koval Lion's Pride Dark Wheat whiskey in tow. As with the other two bottles I obtained, I am waiting until Friday night for a tasting of the three bottles with a friend...especially can't wait after I was able to get a (free!!) sample of the Koval LP Oat variation that Miller's (a 75 year old bar/tavern in downtown Chicago...go there if you're in the city and a fan of craft beers especially...Kevin was the accomodating bartender on the sample dram.). Nice sweet fruit flavours in that one...very nice!

My other two pick ups were 'Binny's Handpicked' bottles of Evan Williams Single Barrel, and Four Roses Single Barrel (OESQ recipe). Not the ones I originally intended, as the only Binny's location that I had time to get to was sold out of both the Elmer T. Lee and the Knob Creek, but still ones on my wishlist, which were still unique to the Chicago area. Can't wait for Friday!!!

I'll get a Benriach Arumaticus Fumosus. Tasted it at L'ile Noire in Montreal. Absolutely gorgeous as the Curiositas!

My sister brought me back an Ardbeg 10 from Australia. I'll be opening it up tonight for a pre-dinner dram. I love Islay malts but I've never actually had an Ardbeg so I'm extremely excited.

@michaelschout, I'm about a month ahead of you on the Ardbeg journey. I hope you'll have as much fun as I'm having.

I polished off my last bottle of Ardbeg ANB last night. I had to order more and will arrive Tues. Its getting more difficult to locate the ANB.

Just went in to the local store to ask about Laphroaig Cairdes. I've now got my name on a list for it, and am expecting a call soon. In the meantime, I decided to pick up their new Cask Strength offering.

Glenfarclas is always a good choice for me. This whisky is the 2011 WWA for best speyside single malt 21 years and over. To drink or to keep?

Great choice @Kutter. It's one of the most interesting malts I own. Quite enigmatic. Each time I taste it, another side of it gets revealed. Not easy to pin down, yet very much intriguing.

next one should be either the glenfarclas or glendronach 15. I'm in a speyside mood these days.

My next two bottles to open will be Auchentoshan Valinch (I'll be picking that up at the distillery this weekend, it's the cast strength non-chillfiltered version of the Classic) and the Ardbeg Alligator which has just arrived from the UK. Two very, very different malts, but beauties in their own right, I'm sure.
