That's a tough one to answer. Do you mean fav in taste and style, not taking price into account? Then it would have to be the Glen Garioch Samaroli 1971 - but I cannot afford the bottle and only tasted it once! If you mean a dram that I can return to often, it would be something less conspicious such as the Auchentoshan 1988 Bordeaux Wine Finish, the Laphroaig 18 Year Old, the Bushmills 16 Year Old Carribean Rum Casks, Greenore 18 Year Old or Connemara Turf Mor.

@markjedi1 I guess I mean the whisky/whiskies you want to drink more than all others at the moment, even if you feel (due to price and rarity for instance) that you shouldn't drain that particular bottle too fast :)

There are three I'm really trying to "get" right now. Each time I try them I find something different and wonderful. And I sip them in different orders to see how one causes a change in the next -- always with large doses of drinking water between the sips. Even with the water (and time) between the three, one does alter the next. The three are Kilkerran Work in Progress 2010, Kilchoman Summer 2010 Release, and Arran Machrie Moor.

@lucadanna1985 IMO Cardhu is awesome. Clean, straight malt. I've since learned it's the "heart" of Johnny Walker. [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardhu] I'm not a Johnny Walker fan, though I do like Blue if someone is buying ;). I just bought Red duty free along with a Glenfiddich 12, both are liter bottles and the total cost for both was US $53. These were the only Scotches available to me at the time. I did think a bit about the Patron Silver, but I'm not much of a Tequila drinker.

If I were looking at my current stock the one that has gone down the quickest would be Auchentoshan 12 yr. I've had it maybe a month and a half and only have about a quarter bottle left. Easy drinking, inexpensive, and readily available here. My number two would be Dalwhinnie 15 yr, my first step into the world of single malt scotch. Wodha I wouldn't bother with the Patron silver, try the Patron Anejo a much nicer sipping tequila. Again much cheaper stateside I think I spent $39 for a 26 while here in Canada it was selling for $125.

@ed-ceann-caidhe You certainly have an eloquent, if not classy, way with words.
@smokeybarrels I've been giving Bushmills' Black Bush a lot of attention lately, along with Alberta Premium. Two excellent everyday sippers that I recently became aware of, so now I'm taking full advantage of them, not to mention the price is right for both here in Ontario.

For me it's the Glen Elgin 12, though closely followed by Ballantines 17. Which whisky are you giving most of your attention to at the moment?
