How was the 46? I've heard mixed reviews, mostly not so hot.

@Nozinan - I thought it was quite good, but as it was my first a'bunadh, I have no benchmarks against which to compare it.

Like tulips after a long winter, single bottles are starting to pop up in different stores.

Reminds me of when I moved to Toronto. In the fall my father planted tulip bulbs and the developer soon after tore up all the front yards with a bulldozer and laid down sod. The next spring everyone in the new development (now an old development) had tulips coming up everywhere, including one that grew through our freshly paved driveway...

Now Collingwood is the most recent city to have a bottle, and Richmond Hill has one. I'm tempted to call RH and see what the batch number is (it may be a dust) but I still have laryngitis...

So do I. I'm starting to wonder what it will taste like. I have several bottles of batches that are less than my age. Some are special (like the 28 and 42 - one for quality the other for its number) and others I simply purchased when I was older.

With archiving a sample and sharing I tend to get through up to one and a half bottles a year. So when I have a bottle that matches my age, I open it on or after my birthday, and save the others to keep me going till the next birthday bottle, if there is one.

So this year I'll be opening the 45. I don't have a 46 so if I get through the 45 and my half full 36, I can then move on to the older bottles. I may or may not get a 47... Haven't heard much about it yet.

My next older bottle will likely be a 37, but I also have others that I could try. And that could be in a year or so, because man cannot live on A'Bunadh alone...not when there are ardbegs, Bladnochs, and Springbanks in the world.

now 45 bottles in 7 stores, mostly in Toronto, but that entry in Collingwood is likely a database error...

I just bought another bottle of the A'Bunadh, batch #45, given the rave reviews this particular batch appear to attract.

Still plentifully available in Australia.

or it's an old dusty 44 or 45....? wish I were in Collingwood...

I wonder what batch we're looking at now?

So I did my civic duty.... I ventured to the nearest LCBO that lists A'Bunadh. Turns out all the new bottles are still batch 46. Very surprising. So I need to decide, again, whether to take a chance on one for my 46th birthday, or give it a pass.

Decisions, decisions....

Looks like I was caught sleeping this time. I've been so busy looking out for BTAC offerings and other things I forgot to keep track of LCBO's position on one of my top all-time favourites. Just goes to show how the expansion of one's interests can lead to un-willful neglect. Come to think of it, I'll be opening my batch 47 in less tan 6 months but I still have some 45 and a lot of 46 to drink. '

At any rate, the last batch at the KGBO was 49, and it looks like they are completely sold out. I know they don't expect the 50, ever, and now the 52 is released so I wonder what they'll be getting in? And when?

Has anyone had this yet? In the UK Batch 53 has been released. I'm guessing same batch in Canada?

@MuddyFunster, If we get this in Ontario, it will likely be next summer, after it has spent six months in the Quality Assurance queue.
