I got my message today, stating that Ardbeg Alligator is now available to committee members. Unfortunately, shipping rules have changed due to tax law and quite a bit of countries in the EU (Belgium is one of them, argh!) will not be getting it directly from Ardbeg. The price is £55 per bottle.

Mmmm... not sure if i've got it... when thru a few times, the checkout kepts dropping... the last time i click it, it says I've already purchased it, thus I can't buy anymore... But then, the bottles still seems to be in my checkout basket... The site is so so sloooowww... must be alot of people checkout with bottles and bottles...
let's see how fast these 10,000 bottles gonna last on the shelves.

The EU rule is a stupid excuse. It's simply a matter of tax work for the distillery, which apparently they're not prepared to do for us Europeans. Other distilleries seem to do it without problems, but Ardbeg only wants your money if it doesn't cause too much hassle. Quite disappointing!

@mster the same happened to me! but if they say it has been purchased no reason to be in doubt I hope! Anyway, I quite agree with whiskynotes, they're putting a strain on the committee loyalty...

@mster This happened to me also, took a good 10 minutes on the Order Confirmation page and then dumped me back to Proceed to Checkout with the Whisky still in my basket. Likewise I can only assume that my order has been processed but a confirmation email would be nice...

@sonicology I got the confirmation e-mail, but after about two hours...

Anyone know where this can be had in the US? I bought my Supernova CR from Sigels in Dallas but they screwed me on the Rollercoaster CR...I've contacted them but I don't have great faith.

I should also add that if anyone on the other side of the pond can acquire this, I'll pay a 20% bounty on bottle cost plus shipping.

@Veritas you should try K&L, someone wrote on the ardbeg fan page on Facebook that they have an allocation...good luck!

@lucadanna1985 Nice! I got my stack of Corry from them...I'm actually sitting here counting down until they open up over there on the west coast. :)

@Veritas well I don't even know what I wrote, I had just stumbled upon it on the ardbeg page :)

You guys on the UK side of the pond are making me cry. I've been on the phone on and off throughout the day and am having no luck.

@Veritas, It will be available this week in California at a lot of stores, not just K&L. I got mine too

just ordered 2 bottles, should be here in 48 hours, looks like a good weekend, wife away and my Alligator will be here
13 years ago 1Who liked this?
@whiskyshiba Do you know which ones? A few names would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

@ganagati, 1st round of shipments are already spoken for at all stores. These are usually reserved for "friends" of the stores. And like K&L, the 2nd shipments are due to arrive "fairly soon."
Try the high volume liquor shops like K&L, Mission Liquor, Wine and Liquor Depot, Hi Time. Good luck.

for the ones who ordered a bottle or two on the site, in your account the state of the order is still "processing"? I'm starting to worry, I think it's due to the huge crowd but it should have been shipped by now...

@lucadanna1985 : Yes, same here, it stated as 'Processing'. But that would probably means the order has been taken, processing / preparing for the bottles to be shipped out. I think, the packing will take a while, so, don't be surprise if our bottles are still sitting somewhere in the back of the warehouse...
Anyway, somehow, my basket still shows that I have an order of the Alligator not process.... But, I would safely use the confirmation email from Ardbeg as the 'deal' has been sealed...

@mster I've just phoned them and everything is ok! :) By the way, in trying and re-trying to order my bottles I even managed to order 4 bottles and have two confirmation e-mails, one of the which was later cancelled because the maximum is 2 bottles for member :)

Good catch, @lucadanna1985. I had my bottled shipped to a friend in the UK as well and should have them by the end of the month. I'm very much looking forward to this Alligator, despite the hassle I had ordering. Having said that, Ginny at the visitor centre of Ardbeg, helped me out tremendously.

Hi guys, no news about the provisional date for the Ardbeg Alligator Committee Release? I'd heard it was scheduled for the 1st June, but nothing seems to move...hints about the pricing too?
