Alligator Committee Release?

@markjedi1 I think it's the same person who helped me today...well, catching a bottle was not easy, so it must live up to the expectations, but I have good hope it will succeed! Anyway, I cannot help laughing at me for spending three hours in front of the computer to place the order! It's somewhat childish, but that's it! :)

@lmann86, I don't see the bottle on their website, did you speak with some at KL Wines about this?

@DevD Oh, my friend, I wasn't able to order. They took delivery of 48 bottles which they told me sold in 15 minutes. I've been calling all over the country trying to find a bottle.

Feel sorry for you guys across the pond - Ardbeg UK still has these bottles in stock.

An army freind of mine based in Germany, gets me on a regular basis.. 1 litre of ARDBEG 10 year. £25.00.. Im truly Blessed . Yum Yum.. being part of the ardbeg commity or gang club ..what ever you want to call it !! means waiting in an never ending Que .. & spending more than its worth !!

Despite being far from an Ardbeg freak I decided to give this one a go and bought from the UK shop today. It's got a nice story behind it and you have to say Ardbeg do a great job building up interest to a new release. Does any other distillery have such an effective marketing machine? This dram seems like a 'must try' and it it's only been out for a couple of days.

I'm suspecting that the 10k bottles aren't going to sell out by September, especially if their website keeps up its current good work, and the current plan seems to be to do a general release on September 1st. If you can wait, and trust the whisky gods to keep a few bottles in the warehouse, then you should be able to order it from many retailers in about 3 months (including ones that will post to the US and EU). That said, I'm already taking deliveries for at least 2 EU people as well as myself :)

Also, if any Committee members happen to be near Vinopolis in London then you might want to have a quick wander into The Whisky Exchange - we have a 'little' bottle that we've been told to share...

Two of my orders are now 'complete', the third one (which was actually the first one I placed) is still 'in progess'. Having said that, my UK buddy who will be getting the bottles for me, has already confirmed receipt of the first box with two bottles. Yes!

Are any of you finding that the Alligator is a stronger, more ashy version of the Corry? I am an Ardbeg Noob so go easy on me :)

Loving the fact that my two arrived on Friday. Unfortunately now showing as sold out at the shop ardbeg.com/shop/product/…. Still available from German shop though ...

Had a taste of this in vinopolis earlier. Couldnt bring myself to drop £55 on a blind purchase after the mild disappointment of Rollercoaster. This was more impressive and a refreshing improvement with all the right Ardbeg qualities. Not a supernova by any means but nothing will surpass in my opinion....

I'll be at Vinopolis next Sunday. I might give the Alligator a go and keep my bottle closed for a while longer...

Finally... Just got my shipping confirmed today... 16 days after I made the order...

For anyone on the West Coast or in the U.S., Alligator is available at Mission Liquors. Act quickly. Mark-up isn't too bad.
