Nose: what seems to start a bit sulphury actually stays clear of really bad aromas, with just some notes of gunpowder and a case of matchsticks. I don’t like sulphur but this is okay, especially since there are lots of nutty aromas (Nutella) and nice fruits (berries, prunes, cherries) to counterbalance it. Surprisingly sweet (demerara sugar). Hints of heather. Mouth: hazelnuts again. Raisins with a chocolate coating. A big spicy kick as well. Something slightly metallic. Beefy notes. Getting rubbery towards the end. Finish: spicy (nutmeg) with dry oak and hints of leather and tires.

Hi Ruben, I've often seen some remarkably differences between the score reported here and the one on your blog...is it just a technical problem? for example this is rated a solid 80 on www.whiskynotes.be maybe it's because you take in consideration also prices in the other review?

In the past there was only a 5 star score. For me this didn't correspond to a simple 4 stars = 80 or 5 stars = 100 because 90% of the scores would be 4 stars. Afterwards Connosr introduced a 100 scale and it would be too much work for me to adapt all the scores.

I thought it was 5 stars with the ability to have half a star, but I don't remember... could have been 10 stars as well. That explains my perfectly round scores: 50, 60, 70...
