Blocked by unanswered budy requests

Over a period of about a year i've made a number of buddy requests, most of them have been responded in a positive way and have become nice connors buddies. However a number of people don't bother to react , which results in the fact now that I am not able to invite new friends , because my maximum number of unanswered buddy requests seem to be blocking this. Can something been done on this, for instance if you don't react to a request over a period of 3 months, than this request should be cancelled.

@expensivevino Intresting, I didn't know an unanswerd buddy requests could result in a block to future requests. In the past, I've had no response to some buddy requests. No response often means that person no longer frequents the site. In one case, a couple of months went by before acceptance. That person had been away. You are right though, a removal of a pending buddy request should be an option if it prevents you from requesting other buddies.

Hi @expensivevino, there is a limit to the number of pending buddy requests a user can have in the system. This was imposed to prevent nuisance users.

For legitimate members like yourself who simply send more requests than most it would make sense to allow you cancel a buddy request. We'll handle this ticket directly with you in the mean time and if anyone else experiences this problem please contact support@connosr.com for assistance.

I am probably one of the culprits who "don't bother to react" to buddy requests. Why ? For 3 reasons:

• Because I ahve no idea from whom these requests come (and the requests come without any explanation, such as "hey, we seem to like the same stuff, ...". Might be worth adding the option of adjoining a message to the buddy request. • Even if I have no idea from whom the request comes, I am loathe to click on the DECLINE button (seems so unfriendly). • Last but not least, I really like this site, and visit it almost every day, but I am not really sure what the point is of being a "buddy" with someone on Connosr. I don't mean this in a derogatory manner, just as a bona fide question: does being buddy with someone make a technical difference (as it does on Facebook, for example) ?

@olivier I'm pretty new to this site, so I'm speaking from inexperience. When I've requested a buddy it was triggered by a comment they posted or something I read from them that I found interesting. Again, it may be my inexperience, but it seems to allow for direct communication without posting in the open. You are right about a buddy request coming from left field. It would be better if there was away to post a note with the request.

@olivier You are of course entitled to have your personal opinion on this subject and have your reasons not to react to a buddy request, but by taking a quick glance on the profile of the person sending you the invitation you have some idea who you're dealing with and can still decide yes or no, this could be an interesting link or not intrested......pour la petite histoire I never send you a buddy request..... :-)

@olivier like Peter said: the technical difference is that you are only able to message private with your buddies on connosr. It's a good system imo, without the budy option pple could spam you with adverts e.g...

I tend to accept all request. If it really happens that someone annoys you, you are still free to remove the person from your buddy list. For my part, this never happened.

Yes it would be terrific if somehow we could add a short note to the buddy request by way of a short introduction or explanation. Seems so impersonal when the request just shoots into cyberspace. I have a couple of unanswered requests out there which were sent to people from my home province. That and similar tastes were the only reason I had sent them. BTW I visit this site every day and think it is GR8! Have one buddy (again) from my province and have corresponded a bit. Hope to get together at a tasting in the near future.
