Glenkinchie 12 or Glenfiddich 12

I'm not a big fan of the Glenfiddich 12 - I think it's rougher and greener than the (slightly cheaper) Glenlivet 12. Glenfiddich 18 is quite good, but not nearly as good as Macallan 18, and not really on the same level as some of the others in its price range (Balvenie 15 Single Barrel, for example).

I've only had the Glenkinchie once, and it was the 10 year, but I thought it leaned too much in the bitter lemon direction. I kept getting suggestions of Lemon Pledge with every taste, but maybe that's just me. Glenkinchie is certainly more complex and (I think) more interesting than the Glenfiddich. I would suggest the Glenlivet 12 over both, however, or the Auchentoshan 10 (or Classic) if you're looking for an inexpensive Lowlander.

@airedeldesierto I found the glenkinchie too weak for my tastes, but also the glenfiddich 12 is not top-of-the-shelf stuff in my opinion...are you planning to buy one of these?
