Happy birthday @cricklewood. A friend gave me a generous sample of 23 year old Ron Zacapa. I know you are a rum guy, so I will crack this one for your birthday.

Cheers.

@JasonHambrey, wishing you good health and much happiness on this birthday, and for many more yet to come.

In your honour, I will pour a healthy dose of Mister Sam, enough for both of us wink

@RianC I've been accused of many things, but never of being the 'most prolific reviewer in the whole of Scotchdom'! But I'll graciously accept that compliment and raise glass to you all in return (Auchentoshan, obviously). Cheers!

@RianC a day early or a day late? That is the question 3 out of 4 years for the February 29 baby. Happy Birthday @RianC! a few hours early...but then 0000 hrs of March 1st would be too late, would it not?

I still do not understand how an English February 29 baby has not wanted to see Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance, the only story I know of centered on a February 29 native. Frederick was apprenticed by his hard of hearing nanny to a pirate ( pilot) "until his 21st birthday". Frederick, being the subtitled "Slave of Duty" insists on carrying out the letter of the contract to stay with the pirates. Sir Arthur Sullivan was one of the few composers to have attained commercial success during his lifetime, but that wasn't what he wanted. He wanted to be appreciated as a composer of grand opera, not comic operetta. There was a great movie in the 1980s about Gilbert and Sullivan entitled Topsy Turvy. Gilbert's lyrics are fabulously witty, and Sullivan's music is always pleasant.
