Italian single malt whiskey

@Andrea I saw in related pages that the distillery buys its grain from the Val Venosta, which it calls the distillery's "Heartland". so I assume that the distillery is in the Val Venosta. As I am in Merano for the next 3 weeks I'd love to visit, but could not find a website with the actual address of the distillery. Do you have the address by any chance ?

Thank you for posting, @Andrea. Do you know the mashbill (grain percentages recipe) of the whisky(s) that Puni Distillery produces? Also, is there an Italian whisky tradition to which Puni refers, or is this the beginning of one?

@olivier the distillery is in Val Venosta, city of Glarenze (Bolzano) Via (rue) Puni n.10. The web site of Puni distillery is under costruction. You can find the distillery on web in Augusts. Tomorrow i write you distillery phone number

@Victor, Puni distillery don't want to tell me this "secret"... But I think they are going to produce different range of whiskey like single grain or 2/3 different grain. I'm curious to taste the new make spirit. I'll say you something more in August. In Italy there isn't tradition about whisky.. This is a new project. I hope will be a good project.

@Andrea, two more questions: will Puni be wine cask aging? ...and, how long do they plan to age their aged products?

I think that it is GREAT that Italy will be engaging in the whisky-making business. Like you, I also hope that it will be a good project and the beginning of an excellent long tradition.

@Victor this is a top secret project.... In my opinion Puni is going to aging whiskey in wine cask... Italy is an exellent land to produce wines.. I think that the first Puni product will be certenly a 3 yars old. Thanks for your questions

@Andrea I tried to call, and my hotel tried to call, that number and there is a message by Telecom Italia that the number is incorrect or out of service. I also found an email address (puni.distillerie@rolmail.net) and an email to that address also got rejected as "User unknown in virtual mailbox table". Are you able to call that number or are you always being called ?

I called and did get thhrough. However, they said that they could not receive me because the distillery will only open for visitors in the second week of August (and I am leaving Süd Tyrol) on July 29 ;-)
