Johnnie Walker Gold 18yr. Where next ?

With the Johnnie Walker Gold label 18 yr, which I like very much, being replaced by JW Gold reserve (not so good reviews, but haven't tried), I wonder: What would you recommend as similar in style to JWGL18, after it's run dry ?

Are any of the Explorer's Club editions similar to it?

If you are looking for blends of similar age, I would recommend Buchanan's 18, or if you are open to Irish Whiskey, Jameson 18.

If you want to stick with Johnnie Walker, get a few bottles of their 15 year old Green Label while you can! I personally like the "Pure Malt" Green Label, over the blended Gold Label anyway!

Not necessarily same age but same style. Jameson is already on my shortlist of Blends to explore in the near future. Living in Ireland should help to source that locally.

I started my great Whisky journey with single malts last year, but this year I try to focus more on blends & I've not been disappointed so far. I like Blue Hanger 6. Ed., JW Gold label. Tasted JW green label and enjoyed that.
