Was browsing whiskybase for you, not very easy to find something for the US market though. I was just searching 750ml bottles. I guess you could also find some imports from the EU, but I can't help you therefore. The last link seems quite nice value for the money...

K&L Wines has a Dewar Rattray bottling of Clynelish 16YO cask strength for around 100.00. Hoping to get my hands on that one later this year myself. I have had a 17YO CS bottling of Clynelish from Dewar (A.D.) Rattray that was fantastic, so I have high hopes for this one too.

@Onibubba Yes, your excellent review is part of the reason I originally went on a quest for a bottle of the 80's/early 90's Clynelish.
The one you mention at K&L has been sold out for some time.
Thank you, Wills, for your kind advice. The one in the last link is sold out as well. I will check on the others tonight. These bottles are much easier to find in Europe than the USA. Even the mid 90's at cask strength are getting hard to find.
I have a bottle of the 1997 Clynelish Exclusive Malts 15 Yr. Not opened it yet. Will do so soon.

@rigmorole Actually, it is still available, and lots of it. Unfortunately they will not ship to my state. Maybe to yours? $99.99

@Onibubba, perhaps you could find someone willing to order it and then ship it to you? it can't be illegal for an individual to ship a bottle to a friend, can it?

I've been trying to find a bottle of "classic" Clynelish that tastes as it did back in the 80's and early 90's.
That period in Clynelish distilling interests me, partly because, frankly, I haven't ever tasted anything from then and I would like to. I've heard intriguing reviews and rumblings . . . and now the pickins have become fairly thin (and expensive). It seems that I am maybe a few years late to the quest in regard to Clynelishes from this era.
Do you have any suggestions for bottlings of Clynelish from that era that can still be found at a reasonable price in the US? (By a reasonable, I'm talking somewhere between $65-$110.) I can pick up a 22 year (from 1989) at a store near my home, but it would cost me $175. Kinda high, in my estimation, for an era/type of whisky that I have never even tried before.
I am quite familiar with the standard 14 year Clynelish. I've found that bottles do vary in terms of quality and uniqueness to some degree, but overall, the standard 14 seems more enticing than satisfying. I would love to try a slightly older and more craft oriented (cask strength?) dram of Clynelish.
