Another review from a sample kindly sent by @Wierdo.

I've never tasted any Macduff before and by the looks of things there are little (if any) OBs out there. This is bottled by North Star spirits and is one of 240 bottles from a refill bourbon hogshead. The review is with a couple of drops of water to a 30ml pour.

Nose - Very sweet and fruity with a lovely banana note, a little sugared almond (but more coating than nut), some distant oak and sour pineapple.

Taste - White grapes and sour on arrival but it blossoms into a most beautiful fruit salad sweets note. Creamy malt and pineapple cubes as it develops. Excellent mouthfeel and gloriously 'easy' given its abv.

Finish - Long and sweet with more fruit salads and a touch of sour oak.

For a sweeter, Speyside whisky this is rocking my world! It's a boldly sweet whisky but it never becomes too much; there's a definite reminder of pick n mix when drinking this. I've only added a smidge of water as it's my first pour, and I felt I needed it tonight, but it was just as good neat if not better - water just highlights what's there really without adding anything. A definite contender for my most enjoyed non-peated whisky.
