My wife is heading to Portland, Oregon Tuesday for a conference and I was wondering if anyone living in Portland knows of a liquor store that might still have a Talisker 18 on the shelf? Thanks!

@hawkscotch...alas, when I do a search of Talisker on the 'Oregon Liquor Control Commission, Liquor Search' site this is all I get:

oregonliquorsearch.com/servlet/…

It would appear Oregon operates similar to Ontario and BC in having a gov't monopoly chain of stores. It would appear that Talisker 10 is the only Talisker product carried in the state at this time. I've never been to Oregon, so I don't know if this site is the 'be all and end all' for liquor purchase options in the state, but...

I tried to get Talisker 18 in Wyoming last month and was told it was out of stock in the US and would return in June. Good luck.

@two-bit-cowboy It is an elusive item. A friend picked up a bottle when visiting Scotland last month but I haven't come accross it at all in North America.

@hawkscotch...I was lucky enough to have relatives driving down to Kentucky last month. Kentucky ='s Party Source in Bellevue!! They had the Talisker 18 there for a ridiculously good price, so my dad and his wife were kind enough to use their duty free allowance on a Tali 18 and a McCarthy's Oregon Single Malt for me (my budget kept me from getting a third bottle...Laphroaig 18 is also a really good deal there).

Party Source showed an inventory of 60 bottles just over a month ago...as of a couple of days ago, it is now all gone! :O Hopefully the info provided to 'two-bit cowboy' is accurate and the Talisker is destined for a return to this side of the Atlantic in the near future. Whenever my relatives are travelling that way again, I hope to have them make a repeat purchase (and/or the Laphroaig 18).

Good luck in your continued quest. :)
