Just to bring this topic back to the forefront, as most of you are aware Richard Paterson and the guys have managed to replicate this and it's now on sale at various outlets. Will anyone be purchasing a bottle of this replica at all? And if so, are you collecting it or drinking it?
Personally i've just ordered a bottle, and will enjoy drinking it with a couple of friends, as i feel i would have to share this experience!

Expensive couple of weeks pre-prdering for you @Alanjp, what with you bagging one of the Japan bottlings too!
I'd be interested in a bottle of the Shackleton but might wait to read a few reviews before splashing out.

@dougwatts Yeah, but i reckon it'll be worth it! Probably wont be ordering any more bottles until the next payday in four weeks time thoughm considering my recent outlay of cash!

It's a piece of history (recreated), I'll be buying a bottle maybe two.

I tasted this the other day and would recommend it, a very well rounded drink. I think I will buy a bottle, initially to keep but probably will drink it!

My bottle arrived yesterday whilst i was at work, and by the time i got home i was far too tired to get my head around sampling this beauty. The box and bottle look outstanding, but i am going to build a little anticipation up before sampling it!

Just a quick heads-up as I know there was a lot of interest in it here. The whisky which was trapped on the South Pole after being taken there by Ernest Shackleton in 1907 has now been removed to New Zealand for thawing. More details over on Richard Paterson's Whyte & Mackay whisky blog at themasterblender.com/2010/07/…
