Just cracked my new Lag 16. Haven't had it for a while as I have been working my way through the 1993 DE. Opened it, poured it, drank it. Didn't even give it time to breathe and it was fantastic. Now I remember what first discovering this icon was like. Desert Island dram? Give me a boatload of this stuff and leave me standed forever.

@Cardinal - is there much of a difference from the newer bottling?

As of now - I'm enjoying a dram of Springbank 10 yr.

@Cardinal have you ever tried the HP 15 yr?..It's a bit different from the 12 yr, and older sibling 18 yr, but still a nice dram nonetheless.

Ardbeg ANB. My bottle is almost gone. I'm distraught, depressed, anxious. It was one of the loves of my whisky drinking life. Will Corryvrekan take away the pain? make me forget? Panicsville man.

Enjoying my first drams in nearly three weeks, after a long bout of walking pneumonia. Feels good to be back in the saddle.

Started with a 'farclas 17, now working on a bit of Glenlivet Nadurra. Don't know what's next. I'm not being particular. It all tastes good tonight.

@maltster I went looking for some Booker's today in both of the big chain liquor stores but they were out here in Austin. It was just on the shelf 4 weeks ago. Now I need to search the little independent stores. I should have picked up a bottle with they were in abundance. Wonder what's up? Or are they just being snatched up for Christmas presents.

@Wodha Just finishing off the opened JW Green lable, I saw that you have Woodinville Bourbon in your cabinet, How do you like it??. My stepson lives and works in Seattle so when I'm out he brings some back to Michigan for us. We both my wife & I really like their products. :)

just purchased, and drinking, Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2012. Fresh! Like, I want to smack this bold glass up in my face! OK, OK...He's OK. Cough dude! You've got to cough! $45.00? I know! What a bargain. This is a nice cheap premium bourbon! I would say, buy it with a quickness.

After decorating the tree, sitting in the glow of the Christmas lights, listening to some mellow jazz Christmas music, drinking 40 year Longmorn (SMWS 7.55 - "Liquid Heaven" - distilled December 1968 - first fill Sherry cask). Astonishing whisky.

At Mary Anne's party last night, six people had their first sips of The Laddie Ten,...six people were instant The Laddie Ten fans. The Baillie Nicol Jarvie was well received among Americans who have never ever seen it sold here. And Talisker 57 Degrees North? Sigh..., the bottle is emptying quickly, and I don't know when I can replace it! Sooooo Goood...It is (a) TALISKER FULL THROTTLE! None of that pussyfooting under 50% ABV.

I'm spending this lazy Sunday afternoon with a couple of Canadian whiskies after reading Davin's great book Canadian Whisky.

@markjedi1 - I picked up Davin's book on Friday afternoon and happened to run into him at the book store as I was buying it, so he signed it for me.

Spent Friday evening with some friends and my Classic Malts Talisker Collection (10yr, Distiller's Edition, 57' North) celebrating my birthday. The consensus was that the 57' was the best of the three (with the exception of a minority, one of whom preferred the 10 and the other the DE). It is too bad the 57' North isn't available in Ontario except as part of the Talisker Collection...

Just purchased, and just opened, a bottle of Glenmorangie Signet. This is well above my usual price point; however, I am allowing myself to treat myself a little better after having lost my partner of the past 11 years to lung cancer. Might as well dampen (with this you don't drown) my sorrows in something really nice...
