Urine-flavored Dalmore 15 that has a finish like the scent of a latrine, along with some nice sea salt carmel overtones. Hey, I spent 90 bucks for the bottle. I'm not gonna waste it!

Sadly, the last of my Laphroaig 18 - which was great to the last drop.

I've been wanting to try Laphroaig 18. In fact, I was thinking of visiting the Highland Stillhouse this week to sample the 18 and one other scotch. Are you a woman, Rie? What do you like most about Laphroaig 18? How does it compare with the 10? Have you ever tried Peat Monster? If so, how does it compare with that?

@RoganFox hey, I really wanna try the compass box , everyone raves about it. Have u tried the ardbeg uigadail ? That nice and peaty with waves of complex flavours. Is that like the compass box??

I've got a Glenlivet 18yr open at the moment, and a decent festival whisky which was bought for me last year. It's called The Hoebeg, and it's a a bottling done for a blues festival (it's even got a picture of BB King on the label). It's a great islay malt which seems to be going a little too quickly!

@rigmorole, the Dalmore 12 is far superior to the 15, give that a try if you haven't already.

@rigmorole - I really need an honest opinion on your take of the Dalmore 15 yr - lol - joking.

@talexander - Glad I didn't spend the $$$, or time on the Dalmore 15; nice to get info here before I go ahead, and make a purchase.

@26goingon62 funny you ask as I had a small nip of Uigeadail after Flaming heart and it really was a complimentary pairing in many ways. Can't go wrong with either of these.

Just purchased the Aberlour 12 Year Non-Chillfiltered. I have not had the standard 12 year so cannot provide a comparison. Regardless, great stuff!

@msudukie I'm drinking the Aberlour 12 Non-Chillfiltered right now it's great, at 48% it will need some water. The best results for me were 2tsp H2O. Enjoy. :)

Old Pulteney 12yr. Awesome whisky for the price. I hope folks continue to overlook this one so the price doesn't jump. :)

@rigmorole Hey rigmorole, the Laphroaig 18, for me, presents a little more complexity with an elegance, I was surprised to enjoy as much as I did - as I love the industrial toughness of the 10. There's a really charming interplay with the wider profile of flavours, and amongst it all, the smoke and peat are - as a signature, still there. But overall, it's softer, more rounded, and more considered. Have yet to try Peat Monster, so cannot say; but I highly propose you go visit The Highland Stillhouse for a taste of the 18, this weekend.

@PMessinger @msudukie - I had both the A'bunadh (batch 39), and 12 yr Non-Chill filtered side by side, and I must say I prefer the 12 yr Non-Chill over the A'bunadh.

@PMessinger - Happy Birthday!

Tonight, before dinner, I'm comparing side-by-side Aberlour 16 and Costco's Kirkland Signature 20 year Speyside Sherry Finish from an unknown distillery. Both are very drinkable, good value, everyday drams.
