Another Teeling from the so-called Small Batch Collaboration, again thank to my buddy Benny. A Pinot Noir Cask, no less. I am curious.
Lovely sweet nose on blackberries, cherries and greengages, upholstered with some sour notes from oranges. Marzipan and a hint of dandelions and cinnamon. Very good.
On the palate it is very sweet and a touch creamy, but clearly very young. It does not really bother me, because there is a lot going on. Raspberries, cherries, grapefruit and plums with a mild bitterness from the oak, as if I have bitten on the pith of an orange. Soft vanilla, light citrus. Feisty on spices.
The finish is medium long, both fruity and spicy, with a big dose of ginger all of a sudden, and dies a pleasant, mildly bittersweet and somewhat perfume-y death.
Nice Teeling and not even 50EUR. I'll gladly fork that over.
