What are you planning to drink soon?

I'm excited to try Highland Park 25 at the Highland Stillhouse tonight. I own a bottle in my cabinet, but I'm trying to decide if I will open it any time soon. The dram tonight will be the deciding factor.

I'm planning to drink some Kentucky Bourbon in the Bluegrass State, as I am going to Kentucky this Sunday. Hopefully I can sneak off a tour somewhere and thief some from a barrel.

I'll let you know how that turns out.

I've got a bottle of St Magdalene coming my way and I ordered two samples of Port Ellen, really looking forward to this one. Now I'm trying to find a sample of Brora at an acceptable price

@rigmorole I hope it is wonderful. I had a pour tonight from an old stumpy bottle. And, while the rubber and plastic modeling note made for a unique experience, the 18 YO won out.

I'm planning to go back to the bottle of Old Man Winter 18 yo rye I opened last night. The first dram was very nice, I'm looking forward to how it develops with some air...

@rigmorole cant believe this discussio has negative votes! Moving on, reasonably soon, (in winter for southern hemisphere) im looking forward to some Caol Ila cask strength, and in october (very much not soon i know) i cant wait for another dram or 2 of my birthday Mortlach from signatory

I love Mortlach, Volk!. It's one of my faves. You just have to beware of sulfur in the casks, that's all. Some Mortlachs can be tainted a bit. Whenever I buy a bottle, I try to read up on the reviews. Just bought a 25 YO Caol Ila a few weeks ago. I won't be opening that bottle for a while, but it's something to look forward to!

Onibubba, that's interesting. Now I feel better. I've always wanted to try the old stubby HP but it's out of my league. Hearing it has rubber on the nose/palate lessens my regret ; ) Was the old stumpy a 12 YO? I've gotten a rubber modeling note from Ledaigs that I wasn't overly fond of, but were interesting in bottles I hadn't bought but rather tasted in the pub.

@rigmorole I have not heard that before ill have to be a bit more conservative next time. Although this particular bottle was distilled the day I was born so if nothing else its very sentimental. Luckily, this bottle is a beauty, rich nose of milk chocolate and prunes!

@rigmorole actually, it was from a 25 at a bar in Maryland. Bottle was a little over 1/2 full. 30 bones a pour. It was good, just not as good as an off the shelf 18. Also got my first taste of Octomore at the end of the night. Now THAT was nice

A stumpy hp 25 in Maryland, eh? You get around. Nice. I'm trying to find old dusty flat 18's. The earlier, the better.
