@misslauren, I surely love that Talisker 57 North juice. The only other bottle of it I've owned was hand-carried back to me from the UK. I bought as many of the 57 N at Niagara Falls as I thought the customs man would probably not look askance at. If you buy 6 you might look like a re-seller. Those which I have are all for us to drink, for sure.

Love the 57% abv, ...none of that 40-something stuff! Real, full-blooded Talisker.

@Victor: +1 Talisker 57* real, full blooded stuff - I've squirreld a 200ml. from a litre bot. and when the weather has cooled some, it's a gonna!

Cheers.

At the moment I'm pretty sure it will be Lagavulin 16 yr. I haven't had Lagavulin yet, every time I go to buy a bottle I end up purchasing something else!

@T4sho3 Well I thought I might open another Laga 16yr, until I found a Mackinlay Highland Malt Whisky under the Christmas tree. Now I think I'll open the Shackleton whiskey next. :)

We just finished opening Christmas presents, and I got blends for the holidays, but good ones. My two kids got me a bottle of the limited retail release of Johnnie Walker Double Black. My wife found the only local store to carry the limited release of Compass Box Great King St. New York blend. Non-chill filtered, natural colored, and 46% abv. I'm looking forward to trying this one out!

Haven't been to my local Costco in nearly a month...To my surprise they had a few new additions; Lagavulin 16 yr for $80, and the Talisker 10 yr for $56.

Seeing that I'm about half-way thru my last bottle of Talisker 10 yr - I went ahead, and picked up a few bottles (plus there was only about 10 bottles left...If anyone has been to Costco - they rarely run outta anything unless of course it was a limited offering).

For what it's worth - the Talisker is in the new bottling/packaging...Hopefully it'll still be the same whisky I've grown to enjoy.

My In-laws just came back from the UK with my shipment from The Whiskey Exchange. Lagavulin 16, Ardbeg Corryvreckan, and Talkisker 18 yr. I'll be diving into the Talkisker once this damm cold is finished.

Lars - All great choices, esp the Corry. MacBaker62- I recently got the Double Black and have enjoyed it a lot, esp on cold evenings. It has some similarity to Laga DE with it's smokier and fruitier taste. I plan to do a HTH comparison of the two soon. CanadianNinja- pick up the Laga 16! If you don't like it at first, let it sit for a month or two to aerate and try again. I had to do that when I first tried it and now I have to have a bottle or two around at all times. Great stuff! Personally, I got Glenfiddich 21 for a gift and have been enjoying it's rum influence as a change. Very smooth and tasty! Also Peat Monster. Both are very good!

Corry is in my top favorites group, along with Laga 12, HP18, and GlenDronach 15 Revival. Oogie is in my second tier, but is also quite good

@Aussie Members: Dan Murphy's Outlet at Middle Pk. Brisbane has about a dozen cartons (that I could see) and probably many more of 'The Laddie 10'. The price is Au.$84.99 and more than a hundred or so assorted Hart Bros. Indy bottlings incl. a couple of silent stills; a Littlemill 46% for $76.00 and a grand selection across all the Whiskies.

This is a much better and more comprehensive array of fine Malts than pre-xmas...?

Three Laphroiags, Tallisker 10 & 18yo's and so many more - I was in wonderland! Even with my stressed Xmas budget, I came away with a Laddie 10 & a Laphroaig Quarter Cask and left so many good Whiskies behind!

Cheers.

@SquidgyAsh: I had a look on line and most are available plus a couple that had sold out in store - Look at the $100-$500 selection for some amazing stuff. I didn't see Bruchladdich Organic on line, maybe I missed it but Middle Park have a mountain of it. The Laddie Classic is on line but it is more than the Laddie10??

On line Talisker '96 DE, in a litre for $139.90 ditto a pretty smart looking award winning 15yo. Tobermory for about the same.

Good Luck!

@fastpoose: The H/P 18yo.Is a shock to the system at the check-out! What you have to do is stick your nose in it and you have a miraclulous recovery.

Have a great day tomorrow and if you are going to DM's grab a bot. of Big Peat; it will knock your socks off - There probably isn't a lot of Port Ellen in the mix but it really dominates. A beautiful Whisky, not to be missed!

Good Luck and Happy Birthday!

Had a dram of my batch 30 Aberlour A'bunadh and noticed it was nearing the end. So I went out a grabbed one of the few bottles of batch 36 while it was still available. Most of the stores are stocking batch 41 now and I just couldn't risk running out and only being able to get batch 41.

The 16yo Nadurra is also the next bottle I'm going to experience. I've had it in my cabinet for a few months and have "had" ;) to finish a few other bottles before I could give this one a try, but it won't be long!

@NickVerstijlen

The next one I'm going to purchase, most likely is the Auchentoshan 12 y.o. or the Valinch. Or maybe if I can find it, a W.L. Weller 2011.

Have a 'Laddie 10' in the cabinet - Heard a lot of good things about this Whisky but, as yet, have not tried it. With the temperatures between 30 and 40 deg.C during the day and 25-30* C at night, 'may have to wait a while for some cool evenings.

I've been eyeing a Glendronach 18 Allerdice in TN. This may be the week. $115 plus tax, though. Pretty steep. At that price, I could get a Yamazaki 18, or another Arry Nam Beist I have seen in hiding. That one is about 10 dollars more. Since I have not tried the Glendronach, I guess I should go with that one.
