@nooch A belated congrats on hitting 40. As I approach 50 I wish I were celebrating 40...

Mind you, when I turned 40 I would have celebrated with Diet Coke so at least I've advanced a little in 10 years...

@MadSingleMalt

@RianC, I'll say this: The Jameson is perfect to have around the house for guests.

Last dram of Blair Athol 12 last night. A decent one for sure but won't be in a hurry to replace.

Sipping the last of my Kilkerran 12 in celebration of Rabbie Burns. Definitely will replace this bottle eventually.

Killed my Tomatin 12 tonight. This whisky was a pleasant surprise.

Has anyone tried the Tomatin 18 YO? I’ve had my eyes on it for sometime.

@DaveM I reviewed a mini-sample of it here but it may have been an older bottling. I know Tomatin has updated their packaging. I don't know if the 18 Year expression has been revamped. I liked it enough that I'd be willing to buy a bottle, if the price was right.

@OdysseusUnbound I knew there was new packaging done on the Tomatin line. I was unaware if anything had changed on the whisky itself.

Just finished my first bottle of Benromach 10 100 proof last week.

Loved it. Will be getting another bottle before too long.

@OdysseusUnbound I quite liked the Tomatin 12, my brother and I killed a couple of bottles this past fall/winter, I thought it was good value.

@Nozinan I heard the Ben 10/100 will be discontinued and replaced by a Cask Strength NAS release, I haven't been able to find much info on this but I found the 10/100 to be getting harder to find so perhaps corresponds to it being phased out

Bidding farewell to my favourite single malt. To all the Macallan Haters, you don't know what you are missing. I don't give a shit about luxury, but I know a good whisky when I'm sipping it; they don't come much better than the discontinued Mac CS.

@Nozinan ....and the fact that you hunted down and delivered six bottles, to replace the one I traded to you for FC John's Private Cask No 1, helped a bit too. lol

Good friends, good whisky.

Can't wait to see my Connosr buddies. By this time tomorrow night we will be well into a 20+ whisky tasting session.

Safe travels my friends.

@paddockjudge - I dislike many aspects of what Macallan do as a brand these days but I don't doubt their ability to produce excellent whisky. Had I the cash I'd be hunting down bottles like that CS and old bottlings of the 18.

@cricklewood I messaged Benromach a couple of weeks ago to ask them if the rumours are true that they are discontinuing the Benromach 10 100pf?

They haven't got back to me yet which raises my suspicions as they are very active on social media, posting all the time responding and liking everyone's comments, so they'd have no doubt have seen the question. If they weren't discontinuing it I'm sure they'd have responded saying 'don't worry we have no plans to discontinue the 10 100pf, glad you like it'...etc

Regards bottle kills. Last week I finished off my Ben Nevis 10 which I loved and my Ledaig 13 Amontilado cask which I wasn't quite as keen on. With the Ledaig though, I think it's me not the whisky. I'm just not quite as keen on peated whisky at the moment as I used to be.

First casualty of the upcoming EPIC TASTING

I prepared the caramel sauce for the sticky toffee cake my wife is baking. my hand "slipped" and my last 30 CCs of my Knob Creek Single Barrel, opened in 2014, accidentally fell in.

I TOLD it not to play near the stove! What was it thinking?

joy
