i bought a bottle of family cask glenfarclas 1991. That required a hefty amount of saving. 205 pounds it set met back (around 350AUD). Not opened yet, and no plans to change that, but i trust Farclas so im sure itll be a safe buy

Uhm, I think €75,- for the Amrut 100, which is still unopened so I cant say if it was worth it yet, but as far as the stories go it seems to be the case:)

I would say that the four different Bruichladdich Octomore expressions are the highest price whiskies I can think of. My admiral/wife has spent the highest on the Shackleton whisky. Both of us agree that it was worth every penny. :)

Just bought a bottle of Ardbeg Provenance. Let's not talk prices.

Was thinking of picking up the HP Loki but it's a cool 250. Not sure if it's worth it? Anyone try it yet?

@Eli Not yet, but they have it at the Caledonian Pub here in Toronto, so I mean to try it there.

$80 Laga 16, I can't find anything that justifies 3 figures around where I live.

Yamazaki 18 $185
Getting lost in a less than desirable neighbor trying to get to the store that had it was an interesting experience

4 years ago I bought a Glen Flagler 1973. I wanted a piece of history. It is unopened and will stay that way for the next while. Fortunately, I have a most understanding wife.

The most i've paid was 110$ and it was for a bottle of Balvenie Carribean cak 14yr wich i don't regret at all beacause it's the best whiskey i've had (noob here). It's about to change because i plan to buy a bottle of Lagavulin distillers 1996 wich is about 160$.
And yes, prices are very high in Quebec.

If we're talking for one bottle, I paid 200 quid for a bottle of Black Art IV late last year. For one shot, I paid about 20 odd quid (or was it 30?) for some Port Ellen once. I forget the exact bottling, but it was some kind of boutique label.

@HeartlessNinny How's the Black Art IV? I quite like the third bottling, but since they decided to double the price, I decided to pass...

@Anxyous Sorry for the late reply.
And, er, I haven't opened it yet. To be honest, I went above my personal maximum by a fair bit with that bottle, so I think I'll save it for a special occasion, like my 40th birthday or some such.
To add an amendment to the thread, I have a second most expensive bottle now. I found the Octomore 10 at a shop in Austin for $225, which I thought was worth it, so I got one.
I managed to find a bottle of Black Art III locally for $240. That's basically my ceiling, so I'm really thinking about it. Supposedly it's better than the IV, too. We'll see.

@HeartlessNinny
Of course it's better than the IV......you don't taste it if it's an IV.....

@HeartlessNinny
Sorry, play on words. IV can be 4 or it can mean intravenous. Obviously if you take your Scotch IV you don't taste it, so drinking the III is better than IV (intravenous). Ok, maybe it's a niche joke.
